The present invention relates to shelf stable and/or less corrosiveperoxycarboxylic acid antimicrobial compositions,including ready-to-use compositions. Shelf stable compositions can includedefined ratios of hydrogen peroxide to peroxycarboxylicacid and/or hydrogen peroxide to protonated carboxylic acid, but need notinclude strong acid. Reduced corrosion compositions caninclude carboxylic acid and corrosion inhibitor at acid pH. Compositions ofthe invention can have advantageous activity againstspores.
