A lung device with an expandable member comprising a compliant inflatable member 30 having an open lumen 36 formed therethrough, the expandable member having an expanded diameter adapted to contact a circumferential wall portion of a lung air passageway 12. The device also comprises a plug 38 adapted to be added to close the open lumen 36 and a coupler 32 adapted to couple the plug 38 and the expandable member.
