The first end of the elongate body is hermetically closed while the second end has an opening (113). The elongated body is made of an impermeable material. A cap (120) is fixed to the elongated body and has a bore (127) extending therethrough. A port (130), which is attached to the cap (120), is designed for introducing fluid into the elongated body. A watertight seal (118), such as a gasket, is attached to the cap (120). The seal (118) is also made of an impermeable material. In operation, a liquid is introduced into the debris collection system (100). A surgical tool (200) must then be introduced into the system.
