PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet sterilization device using a deep ultraviolet light-emitting diode as an ultraviolet ray source and capable of achieving sure sterilization.SOLUTION: There is provided an ultraviolet sterilization device having a deep ultraviolet ray source having one or more deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes and ejecting deep ultraviolet ray to a body to be sterilized (excluding one ejecting deep ultraviolet ray to a photocatalyst material) and control means, wherein the control means controls one or more of (1) irradiation time t (unit:sec.) defined as time for irradiating deep ultraviolet ray to the body to be sterilized, (2) distance d (unitcm) between the body to be sterilized and the deep ultraviolet ray source and (3) light-emitting output P (unit:mW) of the deep ultraviolet ray source to set integral irradiance amount I (unit:mJ/cm) of ultraviolet ray irradiated to the body to be sterilized in irradiation time at predetermined specified value I.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
