PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spray type sunscreen cosmetic which contains no ultraviolet scattering agent causing whiteness, is transparent from immediately after coating/spraying, has excellent ultraviolet protection effect and is good use feeling, and has such unprecedentedly innovative characteristics that the ultraviolet protection effect is not lowered and the effect is enhanced even when coming in contact with water and sweat.SOLUTION: A water-in-oil type emulsified sunscreen cosmetic contains (A) 6 to 40 mass% of an ultraviolet absorber, (B) organic modified clay mineral, (C) an oil-phase thickener other than the component (B), (D) a silicone-based surfactant having an HLB of less than 8, (E) spherical resin powder, and (F) volatile silicone oil, where a ratio of [total amount of the components (B) and (C)] to [(G) total amount of nonvolatile liquid oil content other than (G) silicone oil] is 0.04 or more and less than 0.68.
