The polyphenolcompound absorption promoter comprises, as the activeingredient, at least one member selected from the groupconsisting of serine, aspartic acid, malic acid, capric acid,lauric acid, grapefruit juice and Camellia sinensis (L.) O.Kuntze extract. The method for producing a food, drink or foodmaterial containing a polyphenol compound comprises: adding atleast one member selected from the group consisting of serine,aspartic acid, malic acid, capric acid, lauric acid,grapefruit juice and Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze extractto a starting material for a food or drink or a startingmaterial for a food material containing a polyphenol compound;or adding a polyphenol compound to a starting material for afood or drink or a starting material for a food materialcontaining at least one member selected from the groupconsisting of serine, aspartic acid, malic acid, capric acid,lauric acid, grapefruit juice and Camellia sinensis (L.) O.Kuntze extract.
