PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and composition for forming a coating on the external surface of a product coated with solid chocolate or chocolate.SOLUTION: The method includes: applying a solvent selected from water, ethanol, and isopropanol, or any combination thereof and at least one layer of coating composition including one or more film forming agents onto the external surface of the product； and then drying the coating composition so as to form a dried coating or film on the external surface of chocolate. The dried coating imparts more scratch or abrasion resistance to the external surface of chocolate during processing, packaging, storage, and/or transportation. The coating composition is cured or dried within 30 minutes. In an embodiment, the film or coating is cured within 15 minutes.
