The present abstract for an invention describes the steps in the method for preparing green tea and the respective resulting product, wherein, in the initial step of the proposed method the young yerba mate leaves (shoots) undergo steam treatment at between 90 and 100° for a set period of time, the moisture is removed from the steam step, and after passage through the steam (steaming) and squeezing the leaves are cooled (cooling), rolled (1st rolling), and undergo first drying, second rolling, second drying and segregation.
