Cosmetic agents which contain a combination of special cyclical alcohols and specific menthyl compounds along with an antiperspirant or deodorant active ingredient. These agents have a high and long-lasting deodorizing effect. Also disclosed is a cosmetic product containing the cosmetic agent as contemplated herein, as well as at least one propellant. The use of agents as contemplated herein for treating body odor, as well as the use of a combination of cyclical alcohol and menthyl compound to increase the odor-inhibiting effect of cosmetic agents is also disclosed. Preferred menthyl compounds are menthyllactate, menthylacetate and pyroglutamic acid menthyl ester. Specified cyclic alcohols are 1-cyclohexylethanol, 2-methyl-5-cyclohexylpentanol and dimethylolcyclohexane. In an embodiment, the cyclical alcohol is 1-cyclohexylethanol, the menthyl compound is menthylacetate and aluminium chlorohydrate is used as the antiperspirant compound.
