PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods for optically reading a setting of an implantable valve.SOLUTION: A valve 102 comprises: a hermetic biocompatible housing 106 a fluid inlet port 108 a fluid outlet port 110 and a restriction element 112 between the inlet port 108 and the outlet port 110 for restricting fluid transport. The valve 102 further comprises a control member 114 operatively coupled to the restriction element 112.
