The invention relates to a method for testing the correct operation of electrodes in electrostimulation garments and to a device for carrying out said method. The method comprises the operations of: optionally placing the garment on a test support; connecting an electrical source or electrical generator to connectors of the garment; generating an electrical pulse that transmits electricity to the connected electrodes, with a voltage, normally, of up to 9 V, and with a pulse frequency, normally, of up to 500 KHz; applying to the external surface of the electrodes a radio frequency sensor or antenna that reads the signal from the electrical field generated by the electrical source; and comparing the values from the measurement with reference values to determine if the garment is in a correct state or if same is in an incorrect state and needs to be repaired or discarded. The device comprises a generator (21) for generating a pulsing electrical signal, a connector (30) for connecting said generator (21) to the garment (1), a receiver device (22) and a circuit (32) for measuring the captured signal.
