According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a handpiece punching needle used for separating, from the skin tissue of a patient, the follicle of hair to be extracted, while the punching needle rotates. The punching needle according to one embodiment of the present invention has a slit part at one side of a front end portion thereof, the slit part is formed to extend rearwards from the front end portion of the punching needle along the longitudinal direction of the punching needle, and the punching needle can be formed such that the punching needle is mounted on and used in a handpiece so as to allow a portion or all of the slit part to be exposed to the front of the handpiece. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the punching needle enables the inside of the punching needle to be directly and visually checked through the slit part formed on the punching needle, and can be formed such that the hair to be extracted can be inserted into the punching needle from a lateral side thereof through the slit part formed on the punching needle.
