Multiple embodiments of a modular patient positioning system for use during surgical procedures are disclosed. In one exemplary embodiment the system comprises two hinged-together pegboards that can be used to support different portions of a patients body in different planes. Pegs can be further used to retain portions of the patients body in desired surgical positions. Additionally, a positioning member, such as a pad or cushion may be positioned over several pegs.
