A new and distinct Buddleia cultivar named ‘SMNBDPT’ is disclosed, characterized by compact, dense habit less than 2 feet tall with thick, chunky stems with short internodes； heavy, wide, coriaceous, textured leaves； large and wide panicles of purple flowers； and cold hardiness. The new variety is a Buddleia, normally produced as an outdoor garden or container plant.
