A system, apparatus and method are described that include a housing in which the apparatus includes a scallop apparatus. The scallop apparatus includes a scallop array including scallops arranged in a predetermined pattern. The scallop can be deployed from the housing to form cut-out skin pixels at the target site. The housing is placed and the scallop array is deployed into the tissue at the target site. The incised skin pixels are formed when the target site is at the donor site and the skin defect site is formed when the target site is at the donor site.
