A phosphor device (1) comprises a carrier member (2) and a phosphor layer (3) as well as a reflective zone (33) being arranged at the upper face of the carrier member (2). The phosphor layer (3) comprises at least one phos-phor zones (R, G). The first end face (7) of the optical transmitting member (4) covers at least a subarea (8) of each zone (R,G,33). The exciting light, entering the op-tical transmitting member (4) through its second end face (9), impinges on the phosphor layer (3) and the reflec-tive zone (33). A fraction of the impinging light is re-flected after being wavelength-converted by the phos-phor(s) of the phosphor layer. Another fraction of the impinging light is directly reflected by the reflective zone (33). Both fractions of the light are collected and mixed by the optical transmitting member (4).
