The patient may be diagnosed with an FSH related disorder or may desire to delay or inhibit germ cell maturation. In a certain aspect, the disclosure provides a method for decreasing or inhibiting FSH secretion by using a polypeptide comprising a soluble activin-binding ActRIIa polypeptide that binds to activin.
