PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vascular access catheter that prevents its leading end from "adhering to the blood vessel" that has been a large obstacle to the stable acquirement of necessary blood volume in a vascular access catheter used mainly for blood purification therapy.SOLUTION: In a double-lumen catheter to remove and return blood by the two lumens formed in the catheter by axially dividing it, a blood return lumen penetrates the catheter to its leading end and communicates with the outside through an end-hall type opening 14, while the blood removal lumen communicates with the outside through an end hall type opening 12 spaced from the blood-return opening 14 and located closer toward the base. A smaller-diameter area 11 is formed at a section ahead of the blood removal lumen and near the leading end. The smaller-diameter area 11 has a side hole 13 for the blood return lumen to communicate with the outside on a side wall where the blood removal lumen opening 12 is located.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】 主に血液浄化療法に使用されるバスキュラーアクセスカテーテルにおいて、安定した血流量を得るために大きな障害となっていたカテーテル先端の“血管へばりつき現象”を回避し得るバスキュラーアクセスカテーテルを提供する。【解決手段】 1本のカテーテル内を長手方向に仕切って設けた2つのルーメンを通じて血液を脱返血するダブルルーメンカテーテルにおいて、返血ルーメンはカテーテル先端まで貫通してエンドホール型の開口部14を介して外部と通じており、脱血ルーメンは返血ルーメンの開口部14より基部側に隔てた位置でエンドホール型の開口部12を介して外部と通じるとともに、脱血ルーメンの開口部12より先端部側においては狭径部11を形成し、さらに、該狭径部11において脱血ルーメンの開口部12が位置する側の側壁に返血ルーメンから外部に通じる側孔13を設けたことを特徴とするバスキュラーアクセスカテーテル。【選択図】 図1
