The present application relates to activable nanoparticles which can be used in the health sector, in particular in human health, to disturb, alter or destroy target cells, tissues or organs. It more particularly relates to nanoparticles which can generate a significantly efficient therapeutic effect, when exposed to ionizing radiations. The inventive nanoparticle is a metallic nanoparticle having, as the largest size, a size comprised between about 80 and 105 nm, the metal having preferably an atomic number (Z) of at least 25. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a population of nanoparticles as defined previously, as well as to their uses.본 출원은 표적세포, 조직 또는 기관을 방해, 변경 또는 파괴하기 위하여 건강 분야, 특히 인간의 건강 분야에 사용될 수 있는 활성가능 나노입자에 관한 것이다. 특히, 본 출원은 이온화 방사선에 노출될 때 유의적으로 효율적인 치료 효과를 나타낼 수 있는 나노입자에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 나노입자는 가장 큰 크기로서 약 80 내지 105 nm에 포함되는 크기를 갖는 금속성 나노입자이며, 상기 금속은 바람직하게는 원자번호(Z)가 25 이상이다. 또한, 본 발명은 전술한 나노입자 군을 포함하는 약학 조성물 및 그의 용도에 관한 것이다.
