PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibitor of melanosome uptake into epidermal cells (keratinocytes), and a promoter for excreting taken up melanosomes to outside the body.SOLUTION: The transport to epidermal cells of melanin produced in the pigment cells (melanocytes) of the skin after being enclosed in melanosomes effects the appearance of skin color.
