The invention relates to an underwater hunting gun of the crossbow type with aneffortless string-drawing device and low recoil. The gun uses push-rods (15)intended to tension elastic links (8). The push-rods (15) are placed laterallyon a moving headpiece (11) activated by a lever-operated arming system (10).The elastic links (8) run freely around the push-rods (15) in such a way that thefront ends of the elastic links are permanently and preferably fixed to the base(18) and the rear ends are fixed under no tension in a slot (17) of a bolt or arrow(3). The sliding of the moving headpiece (11) in the forward bolt-support segment(2) intensifies the drawing of the elastic links (8) from the back forwards overand under the push-rods (15) thus optimizing, at the time of firing, the rangeof the bolt (3) without any recoil of the crossbow through the fact that the bolt(3) is expelled in the manner of a whiplash. The crossbow incorporates a powerregulator and an arrow rail offering stealthy firing suited to the range to thetarget.
