To provide a brain function measurement instrument which can specify a cerebral activity region and can obtain high spatial resolution.
SOLUTION: The brain function measurement instrument 1 includes one light source 6 which emits near infrared light L towards a brain 5 and two or more light receiver arrays 3 which detect the near infrared light L which transmits the brain 5. Each of the light receiver arrays 3 is formed ON a scalp 2, and the light source 6 is arranged within the oral cavity 4 and is therefore provided ON the opposite side through the light receiver array 3 and the brain 5. An optical fiber which adjusts the emitting direction of the near infrared light L and is provided in the light source 6. In the optical fiber and the direction of an emission part is adjusted so that the near infrared light L may be emitted towards the brain 5. Moreover, a lens of the shape of a spherical surface, which radially diffuses the near infrared light L having been emitted from the outgoing part and is attached to the emission part of the optical fiber.
