To provide a mat for a coffin having moderate elasticity on which even a living person can feel comfortable when lying, which does not generate harmful substances and the like in cremation, and hardly damages an incinerator.SOLUTION: A mat used by being installed in a coffin is composed of a core member and a cover member made of synthetic fiber. The core member and the cover member do not generate harmful substances and harmful gas when burned, and the calorific value when burned is less than 12,000 kcal/kg. The core member has elasticity and air permeability as a mattress for bedding, and preferably has a thickness of 30-70 mm. The synthetic fiber used is polyester fiber or polyethylene fiber, and the core member is preferably a non-woven mat made of polyester fiber or polyethylene fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3【課題】生きている者が寝た場合でも寝心地が良いと感じられる適度な弾力性を有し、かつ、火葬の際に有害物質等が発生せず、焼却炉を傷めにくい棺用マットを提供する。【解決手段】棺内に設置して使用するマットであって、合成繊維から成る中芯部材及びカバー部材で構成され、中芯部材及びカバー部材は、燃焼時に有害物質及び有害ガスの発生が無く、燃焼時の発熱量が１２０００ｋｃａｌ／ｋｇ未満であり、中芯部材は、寝具用マットレスとしての弾力性及び通気性を有する。３０～７０ｍｍの厚みを有することが好ましい。用いられる合成繊維は、ポリエステル繊維又はポリエチレン繊維であり、中芯部材は、ポリエステル繊維又はポリエチレン繊維から成る不織布マットであることが好ましい。【選択図】図３
