PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of the efficient cross breeding of plants, particularly, sugar cane and the one closely related thereto.SOLUTION: The invention is any one DNA selected from: (a) DNA made of a specified base sequence； (b) DNA made of a base sequence in which one or more bases are deleted, substituted, added or inserted in a specified base sequence, and having activity of specifically promoting gene expression in a mature leaf； (c) DNA made of a base sequency having a sequence identity of 90% or more with respect to the specified base sequence and having activity of specifically promoting gene expression to a mature leaf； and (d) DNA which hybridizes under a stringent condition with DNA made of a sequence complementary to the specified base sequence, and having activity of specifically promoting gene expression in a mature leaf.【課題】植物、特にサトウキビ及びその近縁属種、の効率的な交配育種を可能とする技術を提供する。【解決手段】（ａ）特定の塩基配列からなるＤＮＡ、（ｂ）特定の塩基配列において、１～複数個の塩基が欠失、置換、付加若しくは挿入された塩基配列からなり、かつ成葉に特異的に遺伝子発現を促進する活性を有するＤＮＡ、（ｃ）特定の塩基配列と９０％以上の配列同一性を有する塩基配列からなり、かつ成葉に特異的に遺伝子発現を促進する活性を有するＤＮＡ、（ｄ）特定の塩基配列と相補的な配列からなるＤＮＡとストリンジェントな条件下でハイブリダイズし、かつ成葉に特異的に遺伝子発現を促進する活性を有するＤＮＡ、から選択されるいずれか１つのＤＮＡ。【選択図】なし
