A pet food production method includes: a kneading step of adding amino acid and reducing sugar to pet food raw materials and kneading to thereby obtain a kneaded food product； a granulating step of granulating the kneaded food product to thereby obtain food grains； and a baking step of baking the food grains by infrared rays. It is preferable that a plurality of types of amino acid is added in the kneading step.
