A needle assembly for mounting on an injection device comprising a body 10,20 configured to be removably attached to an injection device in use. A double ended needle supported by the body and extending from a forward tip 41 which faces forwardly relative to the body to a rearward tip 42 which faces rearwardly relative to the body. A needle shield 30 arranged for relative axial movement with respect to the body, wherein the needle assembly has an injection configuration, in which the shield 30 is positioned such that the forward tip 41 of the needle projects beyond a forward end of the shield 30, an intermediate configuration in which the rear end of the needle is in a safe position, and a shroud configuration, in which the shield 30 is positioned such that the forward end of the shield 30 extends beyond the forward tip 41 of the needle and the needle assembly further comprises a needle support 50 fixed relative to the needle. The needle support 50 being fixed relative to the body when the needle assembly is in the injection configuration and wherein movement of the shield 30 from the injection configuration to the shroud configuration axially displaces the needle support relative to the body 10,20.
