A pants-type absorbent article comprising: an exterior member having an outside sheet and an inside sheet and being divided into a stomach-side section, a rear-side section, and a crotch section； an absorbent main body that absorbs excrement； a plurality of waist elastic members joined between the outside sheet and the inside sheet along the lateral direction and capable of providing stretching/shrinking properties to the exterior member along the lateral direction； and a plurality of leg elastic members joined between the outside sheet and the inside sheet along leg openings and capable of providing stretching/shrinking properties to the exterior member along the leg openings. Fused sections in which the rear-side section and the stomach-side section of the exterior member are fused are formed at both ends in the lateral direction. The waist elastic members and the leg elastic members are joined so as to mutually intersect in an area further on the inside in the lateral direction than the fused sections. The tension of the leg elastic members in the fused sections is smaller than the tension of the leg elastic members in an area further on the inside in the lateral direction than the fused sections.
