PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel bone metabolism controlling agents derived from azuki beans (extracts derived from azuki beans for controlling bone metabolism) showing efficacy in prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, by focusing attention on unused physiological active ingredients of azuki beans, and to provide preventing agents, therapeutic agents or food products comprising the same.SOLUTION: Bone metabolism controlling agents derived from azuki beans comprise, as active ingredients, extracts derived from azuki beans obtained by well-boiling azuki beans (Vigna angularis) in hot water, separating supernatant from the generated broth, adsorbing the broth to synthetic adsorbents, and eluting by adding ethanol aqueous solution of 10% to 40% to the synthetic adsorbents after adsorption. The extracts derived from azuki beans are bone metabolism controlling agents derived from azuki beans characterized by promoting differentiation to osteoblasts, and inhibiting differentiation to osteoclasts.
