The health food is power, granules, tablet, capsule, or beverage.본 발명은 손바닥선인장 추출물을 함유하는 건망증 또는 기억력 장애 관련 질환의 예방 및 치료용 약학조성물 및 건강기능식품에 관한 것이다. 손바닥선인장의 추출물은 정상 상태의 동물을 이용한 수동회피실험(passive avoidance test)에서 학습 및 기억력을 높은 수준으로 향상시키는 탁월한 효능을 나타내고, 해마에서의 ERK-CREB-BDNF 신호를 강화하며, 신생 신경세포 생존을 증가시킬 수 있으므로, 상기 추출물은 건망증 개선, 학습 및 기억력 증진에 유용한 약학적 조성물 또는 기능성 식품으로 개발될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
