The present invention relates to an auxiliary safety wheel assembly (100) for a wheelchair, which minimizes friction against the ground while having the width expanded enough not to be jammed in a manhole, a subway platform or a gap, thereby driving the wheel chair without taking much power and actively preventing the inadvertent free rotation of an auxiliary safety wheel. The auxiliary safety wheel assembly comprises a slide cover (110) which adheres to the lower end of the front end of a support frame (5) and is coupled with the support frame (5) by having a hollow space therein, wherein the support frame fixes and supports a seatback and a seat and supports a user on a span between main wheels (2) on both sides of the wheelchair； a slide guide member (120) which is inserted into the internal space of the slide cover； an auxiliary wheel (130) which has grooves successively sunken at constant intervals into spaces which are divided into both sides of a central surface and has a plurality of radially bored through holes, wherein each through hole penetrates through the auxiliary wheel in the axial direction； and a rotary holding bar (140) which has the auxiliary wheel and the slide guide connected to each other.본 발명은 맨홀이나 지하철 플랫폼, 기타 틈새에 끼이지 않을 정도의 확장된 폭을 가지면서도 지면과의 마찰이 최소화될 수 있는 구성을 채택함으로써 휠체어의 구동시 많은 힘이 필요치 않게 될 뿐만 아니라, 의도하지 않게 보조바퀴가 자유 회전되지 않도록 적극 방지되는 휠체어용 안전 보조바퀴 어셈블리(100)에 관한 것으로, 양측 주바퀴(2) 상간에서 착용자의 신체가 지지될 수 있도록 등받이(3)와 시트(4)를 고정 지지하기 위한 지지프레임(5)의 선단 하부에 채용되되, 중공의 내부 공간으로 이루어져 지지프레임(5)에 고정 결합되는 슬라이드커버(110)；와, 슬라이드커버의 내부 공간으로 인입되는 슬라이드안내부재(120)；와, 중앙면을 기점으로 양분된 각 공간상에 등간격의 요홈(131)을 연속되게 함몰 형성하고, 측 방향에 대해 관통 형성되는 통공(132)을 방사형으로 다수 천공한 보조바퀴(130)；와, 보조바퀴와 슬라이드안내부재를 상호 결부되게 하는 회동거치대(140)；를 포함하여서 구성됨을 특징으로 한다.
