PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting magnet which is capable of sufficiently suppressing the loss of balance of an electromagnetic force acting between coil blocks even in the case that any coil block is quenched.

SOLUTION: A superconducting magnet 2 includes a plurality of coil blocks 5 to 11 obtained by winding a superconducting wire material, and protection diodes 23A to 23C for protecting the coil blocks 5 to 11. The coil blocks 5 to 11 are divided in unit of layers so as to have mutually the same number of divided coils, and a plurality of identical-layer coil groups 25A to 25C obtained by connecting divided coils in identical layer portions out of the divided coils in series, are connected in series, and the protection diodes 23A to 23C are connected in parallel for identical-layer coil groups 25A to 25C, respectively.
