This invention relates to a cutting means (1) for a lawnmower machine (2) configured for enabling the grass (E) to be cut and which is particularly suitable for mulching, i.e. for cutting the grass without the need to collect the grass in containers. The cutting means (1) comprises a first cutting portion (3) and a second cutting portion (4) that extend on opposite sides with respect to an intermediate zone (5) configured for connection said lawnmower machine (2) to a rotating shaft (6). The first cutting portion (3) and the second cutting portion (4) are configured as a bar (B), and have a prismatic shape comprising one or more edge zones (7； 8) that are suitable for cutting and chopping up crop residue (C) for subsequent release onto the land (T).
