PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective therapy for atherosclerosis.SOLUTION: The invention provides an effective therapy for atherosclerosis comprising a method of lowering the levels of circulating oxidized low density lipoprotein-beta-2-glycoprotein 1 and circulating myeloperoxidase by administering to a subject an effective dose of an oil composition for a meal containing 20-90 wt.% of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). The oil composition for a meal contains 15-25 wt.% of saturated fatty acid (SFA), 40-60 wt.% of monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA), and 5-35% of PUFA.【課題】アテローム性動脈硬化症の効果的な治療法の提供。【解決手段】２０～９０重量％の多価不飽和脂肪酸（ＰＵＦＡ）を含有する食事用油組成物の効果量を対象へ投与することにより、循環酸化低密度リポタンパク質‐ベータ‐２‐糖タンパク質１及び循環ミエロペルオキシダーゼのレベルを低下させる方法を含む、アテローム性動脈硬化症の効果的な治療法。食事用油組成物が１５～２５重量％の飽和脂肪酸（ＳＦＡ）、４０～６０重量％の一価不飽和脂肪酸（ＭＵＦＡ）、及び５～３５％のＰＵＦＡを含む治療用組成物。【選択図】なし
