PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IgE and IL-4 production inhibition composition which can be routinely taken for long periods, has no side effects such as immunosuppression, and by which various symptoms caused by high IgE and/or high IL-4 production can be effectively prevented or treated.SOLUTION: The IgE and IL-4 production inhibition composition includes the organic solvent extract of a plant belonging to genus Silybum of Compositae family. As the plant, milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is preferable, and, as the plant, seeds are preferably used.
