PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Ni-free shape memory alloy in which shape recovery starting temperature in a wide range can be set, and which can be applied to a medical field.
SOLUTION: The shape memory alloy is composed of Pt, Ti and Co. The shape memory alloy comprises Ti of 45 to 55% by molar concentration, and Co of 7 to 30% by molar concentration, and the balance Pt. In the shape memory alloy, shape recovery starting temperature by the increase of the Co addition amount is not lowered in one direction, and the change curve draws a line having a bottom and a peak. In consideration of this, the concentration of Co can be controlled to 9 to 30% by molar concentration, and the shape recovery starting temperature can be controlled to &le400°C, and when the Co concentration is controlled to 12 to 18%, the shape recovery starting temperature can be further lowered so as to be &le150°C.
