The present specification discloses compositions comprising a pharmaceutical composition to reduce or maintain LDL and/or cholesterol levels in an individual and a plurality of therapeutic compounds to increase or maintain HDL levels in an individual. The present specification also discloses a treatment protocol wherein a pharmaceutical composition is administered to an individual on a schedule wherein the pharmaceutical composition is provided for a period of time and then not provided to the individual and this treatment protocol is repeated for the term of the individuals treatment.
