PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope that can perform backward observations while allowing the structure of an end part to be downsized.SOLUTION: An endoscope comprises an insertion part, an end part, and a connection part. The insertion part is inserted into a subject. The end part comprises a first imaging optical system including: a first illumination optical system for illuminating the inside of the subject a first imaging element for capturing images of the inside of the subject and a first objective lens arranged in front of the first imaging element. The connection part connects the end part to the insertion part.
