The current invention provides a series of bicyclic nitroimidazole- substituted phenyl oxazolidinones in which a bicyclic nitroimidazole pharmacophore is covalently bonded to a phenyl oxazolidinone, their pharmaceutical compositions, and the method of use of the compositions for prevention and treatment of bacterial infections.
