PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope for medical checkups for performing a plurality of endoscopic examinations efficiently in a short cycle while the endoscope is reliably washed and sterilized after the use without requiring a huge cost for apparatuses.
SOLUTION: An introducing unit 30 which does not have an observing function and an illuminating function and an observing unit 10 having an image pickup device 16 and a light guide 22 at a distal end portion 13 are independently provided as separate bodies. The introducing unit 30 is equipped with an observing unit introducing path 31 and a distal end cap 40 which is fixed and unfixed relative to the distal end portion 13 of the observing unit 10 and is attached to and detached from the most distal end portion 36 of a flexible insertion tube part 32 in a water-tight manner. The distal end cap 40 is mounted on the most distal end portion 36 of the flexible insertion tube part 32 in the introducing unit 30 in the water-tight manner after the distal end cap 40 is fixed on the distal end portion 13 of the observing unit 10 while the distal end portion 13 of the observing unit 10 is drawn forward from the inside of the path 31.
