A nicotine chewing gum is disclosed, the nicotine chewing gumcomprising gumbase polymers, nicotine, andmicro --crystalline cellulose as a carrier for the nicotine, the gum basepolymers comprising polyvinyl acetate and vinyl laurate-vinyl acetatecopolymer in an amount of more than 90% by weight of the gum base polymers,and wherein the gum base polymers include 20-95% by weight of polyvinyl acetate and 5 - 80% by weight of vinyl laurate-vinyl acetate copolymer. Also, a method for producing anicotine chewing gum is disclosed.
