PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always secure a blood collection level even if the pressure within a blood bag has increased.
SOLUTION: The blood collector 10 is provided with a blood collection chamber 66 where a blood collection bag 18 is placed, a pressure reduction pump 61 to reduce pressures in the blood collection chamber 66, a pressure sensor 112 to detect a negative pressure P in the blood pressure chamber 66, a strain gauge 108 to detect the volume of collected blood W collected by a blood collection bag 18, and controls 60 that set up a control pressure Pc from the collected blood volume W given by the strain gauge 108 and control the pressure reduction pump 61 to adjust the negative pressure P. To cope with an increase in the collected blood volume W, the controls 60 maintain a threshold value T whose absolute value has been set up larger than the pressure Pb in the blood collection bag 18, and control the pressure reduction pump 61 so that the control pressure Pc of negative pressure P may be kept beyond the threshold value T.
