It is intended to provide a floor material for urination which has both an effectof allowing the passage of the urine while controlling the absorption speed andabsorption amount of the urine and a low water-absorbing effect of graduallyabsorbing the remaining urine wetting the surface of grains, is excellent inshape-retention properties without losing the shape even after absorbing theurine in a larger amount and, therefore, is suitable as a floor material for petanimal urination. A floor material for pet animal urination characterized inthat the surface of water-absorbing grains (1') is coated with a slow ratewater-semipermeable film (6) so that the passage of the urine among the water-absorbinggrains (1') is facilitated by the slow rate water-semipermeable film (6)while the remaining urine (8) wetting the surface of the water-semipermeablefilm (6) is gradually absorbed into the water-absorbing grains (1') throughthe water-semipermeable film (6).
