The invention relates to a dental implant comprising an anchor zone adapted for anchoring the implant in the maxillary bone. The implant is provided, at least in the anchor zone, with a biocompatible and bioactive surface coating comprising a salt of niobium and sodium, preferably sodium niobate in the form of hydrogel. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the dental implant from a dental implant provided with an outer layer of niobium, which is subjected to an introduction stage in a basic solution, to a washing or rinsing stage and finally to a heat treatmentLa invención se refiere a un implante dental de los que comprenden una zona de anclaje adaptada para el anclaje del implante en el hueso maxilar.
