An apparatus for estimating bio-information comprises: a biosignal obtaining unit obtaining biosignals； and a processor extracting one or more characteristic values from the obtained biosignals, determining scale factors based on the extracted first characteristic values and estimating the bio-information based on the determined scale factor and the first characteristic value.
