A feeding system and methods for feeding cats is disclosed. The system includes a package (120) holding plural feeding devices. Each feeding device (50, 124) is made up of a hollow container (52) configured to dispense a portion of the daily ration of a cat's dry cat food therefrom. Each feeding device has an internal cavity (44) bounded by an arcuate external surface (64) that provides the appearance of a creature that constitutes prey of a feral cat. The container has an outlet port (54A, 54B) configured to enable a portion of the cat food to gradually exit from outlet port when the container is rolled on a surface by the cat playing with the feeding device. The feeding system may include a plurality of feeding devices packaged together.
