PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique relating to a medical guide which is improved in tensile breakage strength property and linearity of a core wire so as to solve both demands, in one of which rotation transmitting performance from the near side to the distal end side is performed and in the other of which bending is hardly caused in a constriction lesion of the core wire distal end of a medical guide wire formed of a core wire using a metallic wire.SOLUTION: Using a solution treated austenitic stainless steel wire, the metallic wire of the core wire is worked by strong wire drawing of the total area reduction rate from 90% to 99.5% and a low temperature heating process is performed within a temperature range wherein the tensile rupture strength of the strong wire drawn metallic wire increases in a steep inclination or twist working etc. are performed under a low temperature heating process. Thus, the medical guide wire is provided which is formed using a core wire having high tensile breakage strength property, high degree of linearity, rotation transmitting performance improved in an anti-repeated bending fatigue property.
