PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a thick covering for fluid food without inverting an edible container composed of wafers for a wafer cake containing bean jam, a cone, etc..SOLUTION: In an edible container with the bottom down and the opening up, fluid food having an amount equal to or less than the capacity of the edible container is supplied. Then, the supplied fluid food is sucked from the opening, with a covering formed while the fluid food stuck to the inner face remains. The device for covering food in the edible container comprises: a conveyor A for transporting the edible containers 1； a supply implement B having a discharge nozzle 21 which is arranged in a position opposing the opening 1a of the transported edible container 1 and having a supply member which supplies the fluid food with an amount equal to or less than the capacity of the edible container； and a suction implement C having a sucking nozzle 31 which is arranged in a downstream side from the supply implement B, having an elevation implements 33, 34 which elevate/lower the tip end 31a of the sucking nozzle between an elevated position above the opening of the edible container 1 and a lowered position below the opening, and having a sucking header 32 which is connected to the sucking nozzle 31.
