PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved surgical stapling device.SOLUTION: A surgical stapling device 100 includes a tissue contacting surface "T" and a buttress attachment feature 160. The buttress attachment feature 160 permits selectively securing a surgical buttress "B" to the tissue contacting surface "T", which may be disposed on a cartridge assembly 116 or an anvil plate 144 of the surgical stapling device 100.
