Biopsy device holder 1010 includes a needle holder 1030, a distal holder 1020 and a proximal holder 1022. Needle holder 1030 includes an elongate housing extending between open proximal end 1034 and distal end 1036. The needle holder 1030 is adapted to releasably receive the biopsy device 10 through the open proximal end. The elongate housing includes a coupler 1039 configured to couple the needle holder 1030 to the biopsy device 10. Distal holder 1020 includes a hole 1021 configured to pivotally receive distal end 1036 of needle holder 1030. Proximal holder 1022 includes a longitudinal stop 1048 that engages a portion of needle holder 1030 to prevent longitudinal movement of needle holder 1030 proximally.
