PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edema evaluation apparatus enabling a user to recognize the balance in edema between his/her upper and lower halves of the body.SOLUTION: An index calculating section 44 calculates a balance index value BUD between upper and lower halves according to the difference between an edema index value EU indicating the level of edema according to a bioelectric impedance ZU identified from the upper half body PU of a human subject H and an edema index value ED indicating the level of edema according to a bioelectric impedance ZD identified from the lower half body PD of the human subject H. An edema evaluation section 46 identifies an edema balance level CUD according to the balance index value BUD between the upper and halves from a plurality of levels.
